Description:

The flowmeters utilize the transit-time method of stream velocity calculation. This method operates by measuring the time of flight of an ultrasonic beam that is alternately transmitted in and against the direction of flow of liquid in pipes. Since the transmitted beam will be faster in the direction of the flow and slower against it, a differential in the times of flight will occur. This differential is directly proportional to the velocity of the stream inside the pipe.
